About the project
Following a seven-year community-led campaign, the derelict Merkinch Welfare Hall in Inverness is being restored to its former glory.
With support from Scotland's Urban Past, the local community are documenting the transformation as it happens.
The group have received training in the photography of buildings and urban spaces from specialists in Historic Environment Scotland.
Over the coming months, the community also hopes to produce an illustrated guide book about the building and its past and present role within the community.
