Perth & Kinross Joint District Council HQ
13/04/2018
Printed postcard issued by York House Restaurant, Perth, looking SW towards the building on the opposite side of the road, showing now-demolished single-story building to its west. The card is unused and undated, but was one of a series produced by the restaurant probably between the late 1930s and the 1950s. During this period the former Perth City & County Infirmary was used as Council offices (1920-1985).

Northern District School, Perth
20/03/2018
View from west (Dunkeld Road). Postcard (publisher/photographer unknown) sent to Arbroath with message "This is a view of the school we are billeted in, it is a nice place." Year of posting illegible; the stamp is a George V 1/2d green (in use January 1912-June 1918). It was apparently sent by a soldier during World War I, most likely in the early years when accommodation for troops had to be found in any convenient buildings. The photo was probably taken soon after the school opened in 1908.

Granton Castle remains
23/10/2017
This photo shows the remnants of Granton Castle. The image is undated, but was printed by Jerome Ltd., an Edinburgh photographer trading between the 1930s and 1950s. The growth of vegetation suggests that the photo was taken some years after the ruins had been demolished for quarrying in 1928.

D.M. Brown's printed envelope
17/04/2017
Brown paper envelope with flap (not a bag) issued by D.M. Brown Ltd. Dundee department store, presumably for packing small items, showing the store frontages along High Street and Commercial Street and the corner tower. Judging by the cars shown in the drawing, it probably dates from the late 1920s or early 1930s. The envelope is 21.5 cm high x 14 cm wide, printed on one side only. Note the tramlines running along High Street.

Gaumont Dundee Super Saturday Show flyer ~1973
07/04/2017
A5-sized flyer advertising the Super Saturday Show at the Gaumont cinema, Dundee. This was issued to children attending the Super Saturday Show at the Odeon, Strathmartine Road, which closed in early 1973, so this flyer must date from early 1973 or late 1972. (After refurbishment later in 1973 the Gaumont was itself renamed as the Odeon.)
