11/8/18- view of churchyard and east elevation of the Cathedral. The central tower collapsed in 1688 taking with it the transepts and the eastern end of the nave containing the grave of Bishop Dunbar. City Architect John Smith followed by James Matthews began restoring the Church in the 19th Century. The Gatehouses were built by John Smith in 1832.
