Contributing to the National Record of the Historic Environment

Historic Environment Scotland collects, creates and cares for millions of photographs, maps, drawings and documents all pertaining to Scotland’s heritage. Its National Record of the Historic Environment constitutes more than 320,000 records and 1.3 million catalogue entries. Through Scotland’s Urban Past, members of the public can contribute information, photographs and places in Scotland’s towns and cities to this record. To find out how, download our guide here.
