Join us in Aberdeen to find out how to turn Urban Detective and get hands on with Scotland's history!

Join us at this daytime event in Aberdeen to learn more about the city's history and how you could get involved with Scotland's Urban Past.

There will be the chance to investigate the architectural history of Aberdeen, explore local history records and discover how other community-led projects have achieved their goals with Scotland's Urban Past.


This event will begin at 10am at Aberdeen Town House, Broad Street, Aberdeen, AB10 1AQ. 

The event is free to attend and a light lunch will be provided.

Learn new skills and share stories about your local area with three short training sessions by the Scotland’s Urban Past team.

The tasters will include:

  • Photography Basics
    From camera phones to the latest DSLR, bring along your camera and learn what makes a good shot.
  • Aberdeen Through the Ages
    Get hands-on with Aberdeen’s history through historical maps and archival collections.
  • Map Your City
    Create your own map of Aberdeen, inspired by landmarks, memories and stories.
