If you enjoy solving history mysteries, attend our workshop for Urban Detectives and discover how you can contribute to Canmore, the online catalogue of Scotland’s archaeology, buildings, industrial and maritime heritage.

During this afternoon event, you'll learn how to investigate the history of spaces and places through maps, historical documents, directories and online databases, and then contribute your information to Canmore and the National Record of the Historic Environment.

Suitable for heritage newcomers. Familiarity with the internet is required.

Due to limited capacity of the venue, booking in advance is essential.

The Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design 2016 is a Scottish Government initiative being led by VisitScotland and supported by partners Scottish Government, Creative Scotland, Architecture + Design Scotland, Scottish Tourism Alliance, Scottish Enterprise, The National Trust for Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland and Highlands and Islands Enterprise. 

This event is run in collaboration with the Aberdeen Society of Architects and Aberdeen Central Library as part of the Festival of Architecture, connecting Scottish communities and visitors with architecture through events and exhibitions.There are over 400 events taking place across Scotland in 2016 as part of the Festival of Architecture celebrations.
