History: Reconstructed

Join Scotland's Urban Past to find out how to reconstruct the history of your favourite places.

Aberdeen Town House, Civic Rooms (entrance at Union Street/Broad Street corner)

This workshop that will guide you through using maps, aerial photographs, architectural drawings, documents and websites. Using three Scottish towns as case studies, the workshop aims to develop your skills and confidence to help you embark on your own research project.

 

The workshop is free to attend and will be led by members of the Scotland's Urban Past team. It will include presentations, practical tasks, and discussions. It is suitable for everyone from experienced historians to those with little or no previous experience of historical research.

 

During an extended lunch break, take the opportunity to visit Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Archives. Find out more about local collections, the significance of Aberdeen's treasures and about how the collections are cared for.

 

A sandwich lunch will be provided.
