Tuesday, July 25, 2017 - 17:00 to 19:00

Adult Learning Huts, Lovers Loan, Lerwick, ZE1 0LZ

Join Scotland’s Urban Past as we show you how to add new information to the National Record!

Training will cover how to become an Urban Detective and upload local places that matter to you; add to sites on MyCanmore (for outside the town) and make digital maps through free open source software such as QGIS.

Urban Detectives are members of the public who research Scotland’s towns and cities, discovering hidden stories of everyday places and contributing their knowledge to the Historic Environment Scotland archive.

This free workshop on Tuesday July 4 will walk you through the steps of adding stories, facts and photos of towns in the area to the Historic Environment Scotland online archive, Canmore.

For the best experience, we recommend you bring something to contribute. This could be memories of a place, a digital photograph of the house you grew up in, or family history facts about places your grandparents worked.

All ability levels are welcome.
